My Dislike for "Liked"

My Dislike for "Liked"

There are many of you out there that are loyal iPhone users. I for one am not, but my wife is, and I get it. I am not trying to sway anyone to a different platform, and I get all that there is when using Apple products together as a whole (one blogger makes that very clear in their posts).

What gets my attention lately is the increased use of the “Liked” feature. This is Apple’s clever way of allowing its users to politely and lazily (in my opinion) respond to someone’s text. If the sender is taking the time to write out a message, sometimes with multiple points or information, to get a “Liked” response seems so deflating and in my humble opinion, a cop out. Sure, there are times when it might be appropriate,  a photo text or video or when traveling. Fine. But for a written text that has substance, come on. I am not sure what Apple’s intention was initially, but the “Liked” feature really has me wondering. Are we a society that is so busy and unable to even respond with a few words more than “Liked”? Perhaps its why dialing a phone and taking to a person has become a rarity as well.

Feel free to respond, I will even accept a “Liked” in this case.

I have never seen the “liked” feature on an iPhone that you refer to. I just believe in being kind when one has the opportunity and also checking “like” in the appropriate place for each situation.
