My four year old grandson and I were sitting in the backyard last Saturday watching the birds and thoroughly enjoying the beautiful weather. Birds were chirping and we heard a distinctively loud cackle followed by an answering cackle.
We smiled as we realized that the birds were talking to each other.
“What do you think they are saying to each other?” I asked.
“They’re saying ‘I love you’. “ my grandson answered with a big smile.
I’ve been thinking about how wonderful it is to hear something you don’t understand and believe the underlying meaning is coming from a place of love. We’d all be in a better place if we listened and viewed things from that perspective.
Animals live in a very Black and White existence. There is no gray. Humans on the other hand are all over the place and I believe why we get into disagreements, wars and reduced unity. We should learn from the animals. It may not always eb love, but there is far less waste in the animal world.
