A few weeks back I updated one of my playlists with a Traffic song -- Many A Mile to Freedom -- that played on "my" AppleMusic radio station while Shelly and I took a drive to the "mall."  When I opened the "Playlists" folder on my MacBook I found an unfinished one (from the summer of 2022); a list of songs but no links to YouTube; I also found i never created a companion list on AppleMusic.  Later that and the next eve, I added the links and a few more tunes for the aptly titled Songs of Home.

I found its creation a fun exercise with multiple versions of several songs, including five of the Neil Young composition On The Way Home (first released on Buffalo Springfield's Last Time Around LP), two of Carole King's Home Again, three (including two covers) of Sam Cooke's Bring It On Home, seven of John Sebastian's Lovin' Spoonful hit Darlin' Be Home Soon and three Souther Hillman Furay Band versions (two live) of Chris Hillman's Safe At Home (which I considered as a title for this playlist).

Find five "stand alone" tunes on the list:

Bruce Springsteen's All the Way Home.

John Denver's Back Home Again.

Grand Funk Railroad's Closer to Home.

Batdorf & Rodney's Home Again.

Ten Years After's I'm Going Home (from Woodstock).

and

John Sebastian's Welcome Back.

Find these and more on YouTube and AppleMusic.

And learn which of the songs on the list are among my most fave tunes.  Hint: one opens and one closes the playlist.

It also males a lot of sense for this commentary with this title to appear today.

Hope you enjoy it.

p.s one day last week, I discovered "missing" the three cut up branches that remained for pickup by the City discussed in last Sunday's blog.
