This past weekend, we celebrated my mother-in-law’s, Marion’s, ninetieth year of life. It was an incredible celebration bringing together family, from near and far, as well as people with whom she has maintained friendships with for over eighty years.
We asked each guest to speak for a moment or two about their favorite memories of Marion. I had the most fun watching my children’s reactions to hearing stories about their grandmother as a young woman and a college student. To them, she was always Grandma. She was never, to them, a lively outspoken young woman engaging in antics and “capers.”
The celebration was a huge success for all. Tell me about your family’s last celebration.
