Don’t Mail it in!
Don’t Mail it in!

The definition of mailing it in is to perform a given task, duty or activity with little or no attention, effort, or interest in actually doing something, ie, doing it in a perfunctory manner.   Mail it in

For example, a key player on the gridiron, the team star running back, “seems to be mailing it in this afternoon.”

This is distinguished from a reporter excitedly calling in a news scoop to the Editor.

Don’t go through the motions: Deliver!

My dad taught me when I was little, “No matter what you’re job is, always do it to the absolute best of your ability.”

Can we Zoom it in? Always "doing the best I can, with what I have, from where I am." #BeLikeEsther

Agreed... Multi tasking is the death of focus for me. And people see it and feel it. Especially on zoom. We can all feel it if someone isn’t fully present. On Thursdays I have back to back 3 hour classes I teach on zoom. Have to monitor energy and constantly check in with my students to truly deliver. Great reminder.

The Great Closer in baseball always delivers.
Sport metaphors work as communication delivery points.

I've had this conversation often with therapists, whether they ever "fake it."
