Annual Eye Exam

On Monday I underwent my annual eye examination.

It is always a pleasant experience, as my doctor is a fellow Roslyn High School graduate, Leslie Goldberg.  Leslie is a World Class ophthalmologist and even a better person, making this doctor's office visit something to look forward to.

Being who I am, I was apprehensive as to the condition of my eyes and being competitive, I tried so hard to see and recognize those little letters.

I’m happy to report that my eyes are just about the same as last year and Leslie gave me a clean bill of health (eyes are both windows into the soul and early indicators of possible medical conditions).

Thank you Leslie for allowing me to continue to keep my eye on the ball!

My eyes ..... I am thankful for them everyday. Of all the 5 senses - that one is the most important one to me

Helen Keller said, "of all the senses, sight must be the most delightful." Thanks for sharing this delightful news.

Great news! Though maybe not for the teams who compete against you. :)

Glad things are going well with your eyes. Your description of how you address your eye exam is interesting and hits home.

Great news indeed. I just had my annual eye exam last month. All is good too and about the same as last year. Enjoy another visually stimulating year, with many more to come.

I have hazel eyes and I often get compliments on them. They are one of my favorite physical attributes

Just took my 90.5 yr old mother to have her annual eye exam. Over the years she went from wearing glasses or contacts to only wearing one contact to now needing nothing at all!

My only challenge is that she can see a crumb on the carpet four feet away and wants to go pick it up. #NoFallingPlease .

I met Leslie Goldberg in September of 1956 . Our first day at the brand new Roslyn Junior High School . He was cool. Dressed well and was a great dancer . The girls were all over that little guy!
The dreaded FAA First Class Physical . Every 6 months for 50 years . It was you bet your job twice a year . As pilots it was a necessary pain in the ass. As I got older my eyes got slower. Rather than deal with glasses I just memorized the eye chart .

was the 20/20/ line . Done . Passed. I mean seriously ? An EKG twice a year ? Blood work twice a year ? Does everybody feel safe ? So I cheated on my eye test . Big deal . I could fly that big piece of tin blindfolded . You can take that to the bank .

Without corrective lenses, I am legally blind. Now the good news! A minor cataract procedure can give me 20/20 vision. No more lost lenses. No more painful specs that fly under my lenses in air conditioning, and mo more nigh blindness.
