How do you put on your shoes?

This became a topic of discussion after my husband watched me put on sneakers last week. I put on my right sock and then the right sneaker. I then proceeded to put on the left sock and then, the left sneaker.

I was told I was doing it wrong. That I should be putting both sneakers on first and, after I have both socks on, I should put on my shoes. That way, he told me, at least I would have both feet covered.

I do not think that, at my age, I will change how I put my shoes on. But I am curious. Have I been doing it wrong all this time?  How do you put on your shoes?

I put my socks on first then shoes. Of course we don't wear shoes in our house, so putting on my socks when dressing if going outside, it's easier to put on first. When I get to the door, the shoes go on. But I did it that way even when I used to wear shoes in the house before my wife set me straight.

As they say…”Life is in the details”. Tell your husband thank you but your way has been working for you fine and you see no reason to change. For the record, I do it your way but might advise a child to cover both feet first. I guess you and I missed that instruction. I vividly recall shoe lace training.
