Needles, not for me...
Since I was a kid, the fear of getting a shot at the doctor's office would get me into a panic. There was heavy breathing, crying and a pediatrician who meant well, but always scammed me into believing there would be nothing on this visit. Until he prepared the syringe.
To this day, I can’t watch when getting blood drawn, something at my age happens more frequently than when I was a kid. But I manage the anxiety and get through it. I will say, when I go for a checkup, my blood pressure is usually about 10 points higher with the anxiety that a test or other procedure may require a needle.
Even when I watch TV and there is a scene in the hospital (wife loves medicals shows), they have to show a needle or some blood to prove it is legitimate. Not for me. I can do without any of it and will turn my head away until the scene is over.
So that is one of my phobias. Do you have any that you just can’t shake.
