I Am Irritated
We all have them, but do not often admit to them; pet peeves.
Pet peeves are those little things that seem too small to matter, until they happen repeatedly and suddenly feel very personal. Mine include people who feel that there is no need to put a car blinker on before making a right turn. Is it a small indiscretion? Absolutely. Does it make me crazy and lead to me cursing in my car with the windows closed? Yes it does, every single time.
Another pet peeve I have is when I have called a customer service line and they ask me, before I can speak to a human, to type an order number on my telephone’s keypad or my customer identification number. I always do it, mostly because the system will not put me through to a human until I do so. But when you do get through to a human the first question that they ask you is what is your order or customer identification number?
This routine irritates me every single time. If I mention that I have already typed it in, the person on the phone will invariably politely (almost too politely) apologize for the request but ask for an answer. One time a customer service representative admitted to me that they have you typing away while you are waiting to keep you occupied so you do not notice how long the wait is. That customer service representative should have gotten an honesty award!!
Everyone has them. What are your pet peeves?
