Today is a very special day.  More on that later. I focus first on the special message that I deliver each second Sunday each May: On this Mother’s Day 2026, to every mom, please enjoy your special Happy Mother’s Day.  I enjoy this opportunity as a special benefit of Sunday blogging. 

Today, I spend time with my mom. Our daughter takes her mom to a mother-daughter Mother’s Day brunch. 

What makes this day even more special involves a different anniversary: My 1984 Thursday eve blind date with Shelly. (By the way, Tuesday is the “anniversary” of our 1984 first date, to see “The Leader of the Park” musical, pre-Broadway, at The Bottom Line — a site now occupied by NYU — on West 4th Street at Mercer Street several blocks from this year’s Gotham Battle of the Bands®).

So once again on this Mother’s Day – a special benefit of Sunday blogging, I celebrate my mom, and thank my wonderful and beautiful wife, Shelly (pictured with me on a winery visit last June during a Hudson Valley foray), the mom of Jonathan and Marisa for being so special and loving.
