I, almost always, write my blogs on Saturday morning. My husband works on Saturdays and I generally use the time alone to gather my thoughts and write.

This Saturday, my husband is coming home early as we are watching our grandchildren for the remainder of the weekend, through Sunday night. So, my time to write my blog is limited to Saturday morning.

As I am staring at my computer screen, there are no words in my head. I find the best of my blogs just flow out of me, generally faster than I can type them. Today, there are no words coming.

I keep starting the blog and stopping. Every sentence I write seems to have nowhere to go. The irony is that the more I think about how stuck I am, the more words pile up in my head instead of on the screen.

We all have these moments when the words just aren't there. How do you deal with writer’s block when the words refuse to show up?

I completely understand!  When I'm blocked, I sometimes scan news headlines and articles I have put aside to read for ideas.     I write my blogs on Monday nights. It is really the worst habit because it is last minute.  I also try to keep a note on my phone to keep track of ideas if I get stuck.  Bill has a note on his phone for me too.  It is pressure though -- and its been going on for almost 20 years.  If I'm right, we started blogging in 2006.  Crazy, right?
