My Airplane Attire

I’ve noticed that on long airline flights, Americans—especially  me—have embraced the idea that pseudo pajamas are perfectly acceptable travel attire, as long as we call them “loungewear.”

Yet on some flights to and from the United Kingdom, I’ll see passengers who still seem to believe that flying is an occasion—men in blazers, women with full makeup and dresses—while I’m sitting there in stretchy pants wondering if I can pass them off as business casual.

They look like they’re headed to afternoon tea while I clearly look like I’m headed to bed. At this point, I’m just hoping my pajamas or lounge wear don’t embarrass the country. What do you wear on transatlantic flights?

I wear whatever I would wear in public, which does not include clothing meant for lounging around the house.

While I know that some people make a choice to be ready for bed/comfortable because they are flying, I think many people wear what they wear in public, which means that what most people are wearing is not as much of a choice for a flight as it is a life choice. :D

I bought a couple of outfits (same but  different colors). Specifically for flying. First, I am always cold flying, so the long cardigan solves that problem. But the tank underneath allows for a quick change over for comfort in hotter climates I laland In.  All in all, I still picked them because, in my opinion, they provide comfort and a bit of chicken casualness.
