Dreams are stories, images and feelings that the mind creates during sleep.  We dream about 2 hours each night, mostly in REM sleep.  We all have them.

In my dreams, I dream mostly about negative things, eg, crawling through a claustrophobic tunnel, and I do remember them.
There's also not being able to find my car or fighting off an attacker. The fighting is a human flight or fight response to fear and often manifests itself by my kicking out in the night.  Every once and a while, Joanne finds herself in harm's way and that sets off other explosive responses  :(

I suppose, by remembering some of this alternative reality I feed my creativity.  If only we could somehow record it...

Speaking of recordings, there is none better than Roy Orbison's "In Dreams", which, if we are lucky, Corey will post as his comment :)

I rarely remember my dreams except the recurring one I have had since I was a kid. Although i law school I had vivid dreams that I was in class and not always the same one. I thought of it as extra study time.

Most of my repeated, worrisome dreams, have gone away since I’ve retired. Much less pressure. And although I still occasionally have “nightmares”, I am never scared in them or when I wake. I just sort of calmly deal with the problem at hand, whatever it may be. I’m lucky that way, I guess.

My dreams are vivid panavision explosions -  building designs rising from nothingness, wading in cool streams a glistening technocolor trout in my hands, beautiful leg curves running to high heels on gritty subway platforms, I often wonder what is the dream and what is reality.   Before my Apnea diagnosis these dreams happened in the 2 minutes before I woke, walking around in a stupor all day, makign understanding reality that much harder.  These days I will wake from one and dip into another many times in the night remembering one or more depending how the night goes. And thanks to my brother when I was 5 bad dreams and nightmares do not plauge me...the secret is to change the narrative remember it is your story.
