[Fredslist] MAD Monday -- Services Now for Adult Persons makes a difference

Gothamites,

I chair the board of a senior center and senior services agency that really makes a difference in these difficult times.  Several Gothamites (including me) serve as board members. In these times where our elderly often remain shut it, Services Now for Adult Persons (SNAP), makes sure seniors get fed and stay connected and enjoy virtual activities.  Since my first days in NYC Government, I supported SNAP (We actually had the acronym before that food program took it.).  After I began my current practice, I joined its board.  In the midst of this crisis we also are building a new center and HQ guided by Gotham architect Josh Zinder and our construction counsel, Gotham attorney Steve Glassberg.

Giving Tuesday takes place tomorrow, May 5. In these uncertain time,  with clients struggling to meet everyday needs including food and other necessities, SNAP partners with government, other non-profits (Please see an example with pics in my retweet below.) and private companies to resource our seniors. Many thanks to ⁦@MetCouncil⁩ for their prompt delivery of over 200 boxes of food this a.m. to ⁦@AgencySNAP⁩ following my request for help. We will continue to work to make sure no one goes hungry in #EasternQueens and all of #NYC. Much of the food has already been delivered!
