Job Description ? Education Liaison
Reports to: Executive Director
Direct Reports: None
Location: Field Based Home Office
Status: Full-Time
Nature & Scope of Position
The Education Liaison reports to the Executive Director and is
primarily responsible for maintaining good working relationships with
and management of existing Client Schools and the prospecting of new
schools. The Education Liaison will have responsibility to work with a
wide variety of DOE personnel in an assigned list (territory) of 40-65
client schools across the 5 boroughs of NYC from the company?s total
of 140 schools. The Education Liaison will have dotted line
relationships with the Education Director, Director of Special
Projects and the Program Manager to ensure smooth execution of
programs at each school.
Key Accountabilities:
? Responsible for developing strategies and tactics in successfully
adding new schools to the current list of schools working w/MS.
? Responsible for the contractual renewal of Territory?s current
client schools.
? Responsible for creating and processing the Budgets for all
residencies and workshops booked.
? Responsible for visiting schools during Residencies to observe and
to evaluate Teaching Artist classroom skills and to nurture
relationships with school officials 2 or 3 days every week.
? Responsible for creation of DOE Work Orders and the processing of
the WO through proper channels.
? Provide advice and counsel to Executive Director on an ongoing
basis. Reviewing, maintaining and sharpening vision of MS.
? Responsible for working with Education Director and Program Mgr. to
create new residencies and workshops to offer client schools.
Skill Sets Required
? Position requires an individual with strong Inter-personal
Relationship skills.
? Person must have experience and skills in the field of Sales,
Relationship Building and Negotiating.
? Person must have strong Communication skills both written and verbal.
? Person must have good Problem Solving skills along with an ability
to handle multiple priorities.
? Person should have some Human Resources and Coaching & Counseling
experience and skills. Use of Diplomacy & Tact.
? Person should demonstrate an ability to Work Independently with
strong Drive and Results Orientation skills.
? A sense of Urgency and a sense of Humor would go a long way!

arts-in-education services to New York City public schools for the

Professional Development: The Education Liaison will undergo a
training program designed to familiarize them with the Lingo,
Policies, Protocol and Nuance of working with the Department of
Education. The Education Liaison will need to have a clean Driving
License and pass a Finger Print registration with the DOE.
Salary: $50,000 with Health benefits and three weeks of paid vacation,
six personal days and 3 paid holidays the first year.
