Hello Gotham:

 

My boss, Ed Brennan, is Chairman Emeritus of the Salmagundi Club.  Founded
in 1871, the Salmagundi Club is one of the oldest art organizations in the
United States. Housed in an historic brownstone mansion in Greenwich
Village, New York City, the Club offers programs including art classes,
exhibitions, painting demonstrations, and art auctions throughout the year
for members and the general public.

 

This Friday night, Salmagundi is holding a silent auction of artwork.  This
is a good opportunity to view, and perhaps acquire art, at reasonable
prices.

Auction Fundraiser on Friday, September 23, 2016, 6-9PM. Items will be on
view in the Main Gallery 1-9PM Wednesday and Thursday, September 21 and 22
and 1-5PM on Friday, September 23.

Among the items to be auctioneed will be tickets to the New York
Philharmonic, a set of Faberge glasses, jewelry & jewelry lessons, fencing
lessons (from Olympic Silver Medalist Tim Morehouse), rare vintage posters,
limited edition art (Frank Mason print), estate art, antiques and hand-made
collectibles, dinner cerificates (to the Players' Club & other venues) and
tickets to theater events, art lessons in a variety of specialties including
monotype, non-toxic etching, pastel and still life, commission portraits,
stays at members' vacation homes, tours to various art venues including the
Century Association and Seventh Reg't Armory.

As one of the highlights of this year's Silent Auction Fundraiser, an
original work by the legendary

Mason will be offered for raffle! Drawing of the winning ticket to take
place around 8:30 PM in the Main Gallery, during the Silent Auction Grand
Finale, 6-9 PM, Friday, September 23rd. The holder of the winning ticket
does not have to be present and tickets can be purchased

There will be hors d'oeuvres by Chef Herve, music by Mitch Kahn on the grand
piano and champagne, wine and soda.

Admission to the Silent Auction is $20; free to SCNY Members and purchasers
of raffle tickets. SCNY raffle ticket purchasers who are Members will
receive a free SCNY lapel pin.

For those wishing to dine at the Club the night of the Grand Finale, Sept.
23rd, the Dining Room will open early at 5PM and close at 7PM. Reservations

All net proceeds from the Silent Auction will be assigned to the on-going
