At yesterday’s Long Island Legal breakfast we enjoyed one of our usual interesting discussions led by our Long Island Legal Chair, Michael Garibaldi, including the need to give shout-outs, not just at meetings but via Fredslist.

We also discussed how many of us pass on possible matters to the attorneys in our group that might lead to their representation of clients. What does not often occur involves FEEDBACK. Those who make the introductions often do not know if something happens, or not. It makes a lot of sense to share that feedback, including on Fredslist.

And it goes without saying the “Shout-outs” to those to delivered really belong on Fredslist, not just a personal thank you email between two colleagues.

Frankly, other than a few thoughtful keystrokes (unless you use Siri or some other voice system), it takes so little of your time. It proves beneficial to you as folks KNOW, LEARN, or simply get reminded of what you do. And it gives a nice shout out to the fellow member of our tribe who bothered to bring something your way.

And as a side benefit you are not doing a Gotham Email Promo but when you include your descriptive email signature (see mine if you need an example), you also share what you do.

So give feedback, thank folks for the leads where things result or not; it certainly should work to encourage and induce more people stepping up to share business opportunities. And Gotham involve not just the social but the business.
