Position:            Development Coordinator, Queens Council on the Arts

 

Reports to:                        Executive Director

 

Job Summary:            The Development Coordinator organizes all aspects of the Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) funding efforts, maintains the fundraising calendar, contact with funders, and implements fundraising efforts and relationship management for Board members and prospective donors. Candidate will be working with a development team assisting with the following duties and responsibilities to:

 

-       Set up and maintain funding calendar for all fundraising activities for monthly meeting with the development team

 

-       Coordinate letters of interest, proposals and organize supporting materials for grants from foundations, corporations, and government funding bodies with the assistance of the development team

 

-       Submit and track correspondence, letters of inquiry, concept papers/case statements, reports and grant proposals (written and online submissions)

 

-       Maintain donor acknowledgment and management system through Raisers Edge database for funder correspondence and government funding

 

-       Organize all aspects of Individual Giving such as Annual appeal messaging and QCA Membership program

 

-       Prepare materials for the Board and Junior Board meetings, coordinate board calendar and all correspondence materials as well as leadership meetings (i.e., board and advisory committee meetings)

 

-       Work with QCA team members to coordinate reporting of program activities, program updates, testimonials and stories

 

-       Update information on QCA website, Ways to Give page and supporter information as well as input for testimonials and Facebook cause

 

-       Work with event consultant to plan and execute special events including annual gala benefit, other cultivation events

 

Qualifications:

-       Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills and the ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines

-       Accurate and rigorous attention to detail in written work and excellent judgment with confidential or sensitive information

-       Knowledge of RaiserEdge database

-       Proven experience in assisting in securing funds from corporations, foundations, small business and /or Individual donors

-       Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

-       Must be receptive to participate in a variety of QCA initiatives as a creative strategic thinker

-       Sense of humor and enthusiasm

 

Needed Attributes:

-       Ability to work in an open-office, team oriented setting and work independently and collaboratively

-       Ability to work some evenings and weekends

 

Salary: $35,000 annual

 

This is a Junior Level full time position with full benefits package
