I must vouch for Rachel. She is truly an extraordinary young woman and an absolute "catch" for her next employer.

She has a unique combination of hard and soft skills which make her excellent at social dynamics, with a steel trap mind for problem spotting, solutions and logistics. (A bit like her dad!) ;)

Rachel is the epitome of confidence, intelligence, professionalism and loveliness. I really wish I could hire her myself!

All:

My very special daughter, Rachel, is starting to look for her second job, post-college. If you’ve ever met me, you’ve probably heard me talk about her: Dual major in Neuroscience and Film from Vanderbilt Univ. with a 3.8 GPA; winner of a prestigious competition in the media field; lots of other credentials (“yadda, yadda, yadda,” as they’d say on Seinfeld), currently employed by Viacom/Nickelodeon and working on the Dora show team. Her resume is attached. Most of all, she’s mature beyond her years, extremely responsible, highly organized, verbal, smart, personable, funny, and an all-around good egg. Here, in her words (with some encouragement from her father to be unabashed about a bit of bragging), is what she’s about, and what she seeks:

I currently serve as Production Coordinator on Nickelodeon's Dora the Explorer and Dora and Friends: Into the City productions, where I coordinate/track all visuals from storyboards to final design elements, as well as contribute to the casting team and handle awards submissions. Though my 2+ years at Dora have been wonderful, I'm looking for a change, and would like to work in a coordinator-type position for a new venture within children's media.
Ideally, I'm interested in a new production, series development, or a new media company with a kids focus. I'm open to any sized company -- I have both assistant and coordinator experience at a large, established brand, and I look forward to taking the knowledge that I've gained there and applying it to something new, innovative, and perhaps unconventional.
My work at Dora has been comprised of much liaison and coordination work – I coordinate art elements with various production departments, the network, Executive Producers, and consumer products teams; I am responsible for leading animatic edits and hiring/managing a freelance editor; and I collaborate with our Los Angeles team to ensure correct storyboard revisions. From these responsibilities, I have proved that I am comfortable collaborating with both creatives and non-creatives.
What I can do for your company: I’m excellent at making a project come to life, staying motivated, motivating others, and trouble-shooting. I’m creative, but in a logistical way. I love organization – I’ve implemented and maintained a number of tracking systems at Dora that hadn’t existed before I started, and they’ve helped immensely to streamline the process, make it easier for everyone involved, and make sure that nothing is missed (which has saved time, effort, nerves, and money). Through my work in production, I’ve learned that I thrive when there are tons of moving parts that I have to keep track of, and I am very good at filling in any voids or gaps. For example, I became the unofficial IT person of my office – fixing computer and printer problems; though it’s not in my job description, I became the go-to person for making presentations and graphics on Photoshop; and I’ve filled in for our freelance video editor on several occasions. I’m also motivated – I was promoted from assistant to coordinator well ahead of schedule, and tasked with responsibilities normally given to someone with far more years of experience.
I hope to make a move in late summer/early autumn, and would love to start a conversation soon. If you would like to discuss further, I can be reached at Rachel.abeshouse at gmail.com<mailto:Rachel.abeshouse at gmail.com>. Thank you for your time and attention.

If you have, or might know someone who has, an appropriate opportunity for Rachel, please contact her directly, via e-mail.

Thanks,

David
