When you missed today’s meeting of the Make a Difference Group, you not only missed networking with some of the most driven and interesting people around a Gotham table, but you also missed a really important presentation on structuring your estate plan for enhanced benefits and security to your family and beneficiaries, while also giving to your favorite charities.  Surprised MAD was talking about family financial security?  Why?  Just because we’re interested in non-profits doesn’t mean that the people around the table aren’t also interested in profits for their businesses, themselves and their families!

Gayle Lob, of Lob Financial Planning, gave us a great spotlight on Charitable Remainder Trusts, including CRATs – Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts, and CRUTS – Charitable Remainder Unit Trusts.  The names are fun, but Gayle described their critical importance to  us and to our clients (both families and charities).
