[Fredslist] Helpful Instructions for STAR Exemption

Here is a site where you can file/apply online.

Step one is look up your Star# it's pretty straight forward. Then apply.

Go to www.tax.ny.gov or call the NYS Tax Department at (518) 457-2036.  You will need your STAR code to register.  If you do not have it, you should probably call the tax department and see if they can give it to you.  The deadline to register is December 31, 2013.

You can also do it via paper by filing out a form available here http://www.tax.ny.gov/pit/property/star/index.htm
