[Fredslist] Help for young adult in LA with student loan issues

My godson, who lives in California, has a student loan through American
Education Services that was with SunTrust and has apparently been bought
out by someone else. He did not realize that the "deferment period" under
the note had terminated, nor had he provided his new mailing address, so he
did not receive any communications from the bank until today. He has 48
hours to come up with some money, etc. It's not a huge amount of money -
$7500 - and the terms don't seem totally unreasonable to me, but I don't
know what options there might be.

Does anyone by any chance know someone in LA who helps young
adults/kids/vets try to straighten out the financial messes they get
themselves in and would consider providing a few minutes of advise?

Many thanks.

Joan
