[Fredslist] One more word on the "80th Birthday" event....

Somewhat reluctantly due to the risk of committing overkill, I'm posting one
final time about last week's 80th Birthday celebration, because my mother
wanted personally to thank everyone who participated.  Here's her note to
Gotham: 

 

 

Dear friends and colleagues of David,

           

        You have no idea how much you have helped me over the hump of
turning 80! I was

never concerned in the past when reaching a new decade, but 80 is definitely
more

difficult, and having loads of good wishes to usher in this "mature" age
makes the transition 

easier and definitely more cheerful.

 

        It was great to read of your affection and appreciation of David --
what parent doesn't enjoy

a succession of good reports on open school nights? -- which is how I felt
on reading your

comments. So, thank you for that and for taking time out of your busy
schedules to send so 

many good wishes.

 

       I thoroughly did enjoy reading your comments, and appreciate your
kindness in sending them.

I wish you all good times and enjoyment for all your celebrations.
