One of our clients would like to hire and Accounting Manager with Publishing experience.

The ideal candidate will be a Sr. Accountant or an Accounting Manager with Publishing Experience or an Accountant currently working at a CPA firm that has clients in the Publishing industry.

Responsibilities:
*         Preparation of timely and accurate divisional monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted  Accounting Principles

*         Manage month-end close process:
o   Ownership of divisional general ledger
o   Reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
o   Detailed review and fluctuation analysis of monthly P&Ls, including variance explanations against prior months/budget/forecast
o   Quarterly calculation of supporting analyses for various royalty payments

*         Work closely with Director of Planning, Budgeting and Reporting

*         Point person to external auditors for specific divisional requests

*         Manage Great Plains general ledger structure and FRx reporting capabilities

o   Preparation of year-end schedules with all related support
*         Sales tax compliance administration, including GST
*         Ability to establish, streamline and automate procedures and processes

*         Develop and build-on existing reporting capabilities and shorten time required to prepare financial reports and related schedules.

*         Evaluation of FASB and other accounting pronouncements to ensure Company's compliance

*         Timely AP invoice and cash disbursement processing

*         Monitor cash position and provide appropriate direction to payables processing; including but not limited to preparation and maintenance of weekly cash forecast
Requirements:
*         Three to Five years accounting experience
o   Subscription publication accounting experience - Required
o   Strong familiarity with Fulfillment House reporting - Required
o   Public accounting experience (strongly preferred)
*         Bachelor or Masters' degree in accounting
*         Experience with Great Plains system - Required
*         Strong problem solving and analytical skills, combined with excellent judgment.
*         Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
*         Highly organized, proactive, accurate and meticulous about details
*         Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet demanding deadlines
