Dear All,

Fun was had by all (or at least, by many!) for the Latin Question of the Week. The phrase, Quod circumit, id circumvenit (pronounced: kwawd KIHR-koom-eet ihd kirh-koom-WEH-niht), translates to our beloved motto, "What goes around, comes around." Winners, in order of submission, were: Lee Ryder, Judy Heft, Arlene Haims, Iris Wolinsky, Tessa Marquis, Raj Goel, Cynthia Somma, Lucas Meyer, Dana Charlton, Elizabeth Marner-Brooks, Steven Skyles-Mulligan, Burt Fendelman, Ester Horowitz, Deirdre Silberstein, Geraldine Newman, Richard G. Fromewick, Paula Suita.

The winner of the most imaginative translation was from our fearless leader, Fred Klein. With his permission and encouragement to reprint, his translation was: "A good circumcision hits the spot." Hmmmm. We shall have to pass that by Berlitz to see if it's admissible.

As the response was so positive, in that this was fun and educational, stay tuned for another "sharing of the love," Latin phrase that is surely usable by fellow Gothamites next week.

All best,

Ellin
