[Fredslist] Advice Regarding Trip to Scottsdale, AZ

Hi, Gotham:

 

If any of you have visited Scottsdale and know the area & hotels well,
perhaps you could give me some advice.  I am going to Scottsdale to visit my
cousin in October and am looking for a hotel that is reasonably priced.  My
cousin lives closer to N. Scottsdale, Carefree, or Cave Creek rather than
downtown Scottsdale.  We'd like to be as close as possible since we will not
have a car-many of the hotels in those areas seem to be luxury resorts-not
necessary for this type of a trip to visit relatives.  Any suggestions?
