The Scleroderma Foundation's "Stepping Out To Cure Scleroderma" LI Walk

The Scleroderma Foundations three part mission is to provide patient and
family support, promotes public education and supports scientific research.
To date there is no known cure. The "Stepping Out To Cure Scleroderma" LI
Walk welcomes everyone to come and participate. Form teams for more fun, ask
friends and co-workers to collect pledges and join the walk.

There will be live music, food, beverages and goody bags for everyone. We
look forward to a successful walk and another year of awareness and support.
Sponsorship opportunities exist for companies to gain valuable public
exposure while helping with this great cause.

Scleroderma is a rare disease and often unheard of disease, it literally
means "hard skin" and is a chronic progressive auto immune disease in which
the body's immune system attacks its own tissues due to an overproduction of
collagen. There are an estimated 300,000 cases in the United States, 80% are
women between ages 25 and 55 - men and children are also impacted. The
thickening of skin is not only external, but can involve complications of
internal organs, such as pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary arterial
hypertension, renal crisis, renal failure, hand deformity and facial
changes, cardiac arrhythmias, difficulty swallowing and digesting food,
profound fatigue and pain, and amputations of fingers and toes due to
vascular damage.

Join us at Wantagh State Park, Wantagh, LI

Registration is at 9 am. Walk begins at 10 am. 3 mile walk around the bay.
Registration fee is $15.
