Ma-Yi Theater Company invites you to a special performance of the hilarious
Broadway hit, The Drowsy Chaperone. A totally original new musical within a
comedy, The Drowsy Chaperone has "more laughs per minute than any new show
on Broadway" (WWCR-TV), the most 2006 Tony Awards of any musical on Broadway
and the New York Drama Critics' Circle and Drama Desk Awards for Best
Musical!

A rare combination of unprecedented originality and blinding talent, The
Drowsy Chaperone boldly addresses a great unspoken desire in all of our
hearts: to be entertained. If you've ever sat in a darkened theatre and
thought, "Dear Lord in heaven, please let it be good," this is the show for
you.

It all begins when a die-hard musical-theater fan plays his favorite cast
album on his turntable, and the musical literally bursts to life in his
living room, telling the rambunctious tale of a brazen Broadway starlet
trying to find, and keep, her true love.

Nominated for 13 Tony Awards (Winner of 5), critics have raved, "Few
productions have ever pulled an audience so immediately and unconditionally
on their side. The bright energetic cast dances up a storm with untiring
buoyancy. Sutton Foster gives a glorious, entrancing performance. -It
lifts the audience into a helium paradise of pleasure." (Ben Brantly, The
New York Times), CAUSE FOR REJOICING! .full of wit and high spirits,
gorgeously directed and SO ENTERTAINING!" (Howard Kissel, Daily News), "More
laughs per minute than any new show on Broadway," (Pat Collins, WWOR-TV),
"High-Flying, Hilarious and Bubbles of Fun!" (Michael Sommers, The Star
Ledger), "Irresistible! A witty, winning refreshing cocktail of a show."
(David Rooney, Variety), "The Year's Most Dynamic New Musical" (Adam
Feldman, Time Out New York).

Proceeds go to benefit Ma-Yi Theater Company, the nation's leading Asian
American theater company, dedicated to providing a supportive home for new
works by Asian American artists.
