The M&A Advisor has a dynamic opportunity available for a National Director of Sales to develop and grow revenue for the company's various publishing properties, including its newsletters, conferences, seminars, website, e-zines and ancillary online and offline products. We organize conferences worldwide in London, Chicago, San Francisco and New York.  New York culminates with the only Annual Awards program in middle market mergers and acquisitions.

The National Director of Sales is a proven winner, and will spearhead sales efforts. As revenue grows, he/she will hire additional staff and oversee the sales efforts. This position will be based out of our headquarters in Queens, New York.  This is a highly independent role, but includes a lot of interaction with the CEO of the company.  The individual should know the intricacies of high finance, private equity, investment banking and companies and professionals involved in middle market finance. Individual must also have experience taking a company or division along a high-growth path.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
" Develop account specific sales strategies targeting advertising/sponsorship revenue growth for newsletter, website, online and conferences
" Possess a consultative nature: our Sales process requires Needs Analysis that leads to a Needs/Features/Benefits client solution proposal resulting in a close
" Develop and maintain relationships with all key decision makers with client and agency personnel
" Prospect and generate new business appointments
" Maintain professionalism. Presentations are an integral part of our corporate culture. Our client presentations are polished and sophisticated, and we expect the same image from our sales team
" Manage all sales related activities on a specified list of client, ad agency/media buying service assignments. 
" Detailed management to effectively supervise all details associated with client prospects and accounts
" Oversee all post-sales related functions including fulfillment, trafficking, billing and stewardship for any active client. 
" Maintain general understanding of financial industries and competitive activities that relate to all assigned accounts. 
" Develop and implement strategies for establishing partnerships and business relationships
" Distribute and monitor leads to sales reps, if applicable
" Track and maintain results daily on what's working and what isn't working

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
" Familiarity and success with Client driven sales process: Meeting Sales Goals, Negotiation, Selling to Customer Needs, Motivation for Sales, Sales Planning, Building Relationships, Coaching, Managing Processes, Market Knowledge, Developing Budgets, Customer Focus, Decision Making, Managing Profitability, Planning, Foster Teamwork, Very Strong Closing Skills
" Success with a conceptual driven sales process, that resulted in closed revenue
" Strong, established relationships with clients and agency decision makers in finance
" Extensive rolodex of key contacts at agencies, prospects and clients. Must hit the ground running!!! 
" Experience creating innovative solutions for clients and strategic partners 
" Successful track record in online advertising sales. Minimum of 5 years experience, a plus
" Strong written and verbal communications skills.
" Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
" Results-oriented, driven, hungry and comfortable in a highly dynamic and fluid environment.
" Experience managing and executing direct mail, local and regional traffic driving promotions with a successful record of accomplishment
" Strong negotiating skills and experience in establishing partnership programs. 
" Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
" Highly creative talent with a strong drive and contagious, enthusiastic energy
" Some travel
" Experience with MS office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) and contact management program, such as ACT or Goldmine.
Education and Experience:
" BachelorÌs degree required.
" Five (5) to ten (10) years minimum of advertising / media sales experience

COMPENSATION:
Base Salary, plus commission on your direct sales, plus override on sales team results, when applicable.  No cap.  Health and dental benefits included.
