Hi everyone,

I am sending a request to anyone who may offer assistance.  I have reached 

out to the Smithsonian with no success, so I'm hoping someone here will be 

able to help.

I am looking to preserve a letter my Grandfather wrote to his parents on 
December 8, 1941, on USS Patterson stationary.  He was stationed on the 
destroyer in Pearl Harbor when it was attacked.  The letter (which I hope 
to 
scan to share with you all) informs his parents that he is still alive, 
and 
asks them to not put too much faith in what the media is reporting, but 
rather trust in what the Presidents says and does.

My family and I would be grateful if anyone can direct us to 
something/somewhere/someone who would be able to preserve this letter.
