Sure, Come Along
Over the last year, my son took up line dancing. Yes, line dancing. In classic Eric fashion, not just as a quick passing hobby but with full intention and focus.
Turns out, line dancing is not just an activity; it is a community. Apparently, you can find line dancing in any city, and with that, you will join a new group of friends. We have wanted to see how this works for months.
Recently, we were in the same city and Eric decided he wanted to find local line dancing. When I asked if his parents could tag along, Eric said “sure”. So, with iPhone in hand, off we went to a local bar where a group of line dancers first learned from an instructor and then danced their hearts out – including my son.
Turns out, he has developed quite a repertoire of songs and dances – north of 35 to be exact. On this night, the instructor seemed genuinely excited to have a partner to engage in some of the more complicated moves. Oh, the videos I now have on my phone (surreptitiously taken, of course, as we sat by the bar talking to the bartender).
If you ever had an interest, I highly recommend line dancing. And if not, I’ll show you some videos next time I see you.
