Description
40+ years of experience in resolving business disputes as lawyer-advocate for a wide range of business clientele, including in Manhattan law firm and as partner in medium-sized L. I. firm; since 2000, as sole practitioner in mid-Nassau. NOTE: I retired from the practice of law effective 2016. I retired as a neutral business arbitrator and mediator in March 2023.

Regular public speaking before a wide variety of groups, usually on legal topics centering around ADR or marketing. Frequent author of book chapters and articles online and in print, nationally and regionally. Train lawyers and retired judges to be arbitrators and mediators, on behalf of the NYS Bar Association and NYS Court System -- basic and advanced level arbitrator and mediator training.

Started practice as commercial litigator, resolving business disputes in court, on behalf of NYC and L.I. law firms. Gradually morphed more and more of my practice away from commercial litigation in the courts, and instead focused on business ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution -- Arbitration and Mediation), to the point where my practice was essentially 100% business ADR: more than 90% of my time was spent as a neutral Arbitrator and Mediator, and less than 10% as a B2B dispute resolution lawyer. I fully retired in March 2023.
