I agree so much: These thoughts, "How could I forget? ... Am I losing my mind? ..." A wise mentor recently told me: They just do not matter. The story of grandfather telling grandson about 2 wolves inside fighting. One full of anger, self-doubt, be first... And the other with compassion, love and lending a hand to the next. Grandfather stops the story there.. And grandson exclaims "which wolf wins." Grandfather replied, "The one you feed."

What's it all about ...
Posted By : Shelley Simpson

We humans often seem to spend too much time looking for some deep meaning in life events when, in fact, things are often pretty simple and straight forward. Recently, I forgot to do something I usually do for someone.    I became slightly obsessed  … How could I forget? Am I losing my mind? Did I do irreparable damage to a relationship?  What's b

Know your (thy) self. Self reflection - an ingredient, I believe, to success .. no matter how you find/define success.

Self-reflection
Posted By : Mitch Tobol

I do it a lot and wonder if you do too. From golf swings, to clients, to important personal relationships I often reflect on them and find myself grateful. But sometimes I figuratively beat myself up. I’m probably my own toughest critic.   Self-reflection can take many forms, including journaling, meditation, and introspection. I don't journal bu

"Getting to their level," I remember, like it was yesterday, though it was 40 years ago ... a nuclear scientist talking to a 3rd grade class, explaining what he did, ratcheding-down his language until getting to their level, to where they were able (he was able) to participate in the conversation with them. They were his customers for ever.

Elevator Speech

In my (www.gothamnetworking.com) networking world we ask: Who you are, what you do and how can we help you? It's amazing how fruitful those answers can be, because we believe that "It's better to give than receive, but what goes around comes around." The object of the exercise is multi faceted.  A basic objective is, in the words of my salesman

In honor of this special day, I thought I'd share with you some great April Fools' Day pranks.   In 1957, the BBC ran a segment about the Swiss spaghetti harvest. They claimed that due to a mild winter and the "virtual disappearance of the spaghetti weevil," Swiss farmers were enjoying a bumper crop of spaghetti. The segment featured footage of pe

Time Marches On

Yesterday I celebrated my pictured Birthday   Satchel Paige once said "How old would you be if you didn't know how old you was?" How profound! Feel free to ask yourself :) I would be 40, when I qualified for the Boston Marathon.   I don't dwell on the ever mounting number as I know I'm in the process of becoming a Tribal Elder and that I've notched

Opening Day
Posted By : Benjamin Geizhals

Today is a special day. Although it is someone’s birthday, everyday is someone’s birthday. Today is special because it’s Opening Day — the Mets in Miami and the Yankees at home.Opening Day is very special. No statistics, hope and optimism reign supreme. Like race horses starting in the gate. All at the same place, waiting for the start. And it’s tim
