Lost Phone

Overheard while waiting for coffee at a local coffee and bake shop:Apparently a customer was calling because she has lost her cellphone and thought she might have left it in the shop’s bathroom. The person at the counter who answered the call had an empty cellphone case in her hand and was explaining that the empty case was all that was found in the

I've long admired your tenacity! Dr Berger is also relentless in his profession. You don't get to his profession by sitting on the sidelines.

Relentless
Posted By : Fred Klein

Recently my friend David Berger commented that I'm relentless. He said it almost as a throw away line, because it wasn't directly on point.   I heard it and it got me thinking that he was right on. One of my Rules for Success is to never quit and to out work the competition.  David's "relentless" comment resonated so much in my mind that I am now h

Pivot

I think they got it wrong when they decided that “Gaslighting” is the word of the year.I was speaking to Nancy the other day and we both commented on how many plans have been changed, often at the last minute......And how we have had to adjust accordingly.I think the word of the year should have been “Pivot”.

Watching channel 12 news this morning, a tractor-trailer is stuck under an overpass on the Southern State Pkwy.. First-person I thought of--Robert Moses....lest we forget why he put those overpasses up. I am surprised that he hasn't been canceled.

Robert Moses-New York’s Power Broker
Posted By : ODEY RAVIV

In David Hare’s new play, “Straight Line Crazy”, Ralph Fiennes inhabits the role of the most important New York State visionary of the 20th century.  Heading up more than 20 state agencies in his run of over 40 years, Robert Moses was considered the most powerful man in New York.  He maintained that he was not an urban planner but a doer.   Moses b

Put your ins card on your phone (most have apps)-this way it's always current
Not a guarantee that everything will be dismissed. I'd pay and I'd try not to beat myself up over the plate.

They are getting cute

I was pulled over on two Fridays ago with no license plate on the front of my car. Guilty. I was waiting for the bracket which arrived a couple of months ago and got lazy.   When I handed him my insurance card, license and registration, the insurance card was old so I received two tickets. The police officer told me if I got the plate on within one

In my first professional job, I would find my BFF. We have been in each other's weddings and been thru the good and the bad and I consider myself very fortunate. I have also remained close to my boss from so long ago. He has been a lifelong mentor.

Those Important First Friendships
Posted By : Rona Gura

I recently read a very interesting New York Times article. The premise of the article was how important those friends we make at our first jobs are to us both personally and professionally. The article went on to examine how the current generation of professionals are losing this benefit, due to the onslaught of virtual workplaces.    As I read the

Philly

If you read last week’s blog, you know I posted from Philly. We stayed in the historic part and just a few blocks from our hotel, we could walk to the Museum of the American Revolution. It included a special exhibit of paintings by Don Troiano recreating revolutionary era events; those painting supplemented actual artifacts, munitions, arms, gear,

Glad that you are on the mend. Being cautious 24/7 is exhausting. I traced my first infection back to the supermarket!

COVID 22
Posted By : Fred Klein

I tested positive for COVID less than 2 weeks ago.  Since the inception of the COVID 19 Pandemic I had been unscathed. As time passed, I think subconsciously, I felt immune.  Afterall, I had been vaccinated with 3 added boosters. Eventually, despite constant cautionary advice, I let my guard down.  For instance, I wore a mask less and less and regu

Words of Advice

There’s an old Yiddish expression (aren’t all Yiddish expressions “old”?) - “Man plans and God laughs.”As we come out of the restrictions of the pandemic, we are planning more. And the results are mixed.Plans are changed by last-minute (and unanticipated) Covid. Airline travel is iffy and then, there’s always the weather. So, as we make our plans, r

Personally, I am not lazy, I prefer not to have to travel for things that can be done via zoom. Covid is still here.

Comfortably Lazy
Posted By : Fred Klein

It seems to me that we are becoming comfortably lazy.  An example of which is that many now insist on working from home or prefer Zoom rather than in person meetings.  Say what you like, but question yourself.  Have I become comfortably lazy?  Once you admit the truth, your opinion as to the impact of the Pandemic upon our way of life might change
