Another year

Another year

As of this post, my birthday was yesterday and the years keep going by ever faster. So much has happened over the last 12 months. The two largest events were my end of a 25-year run at Xerox. I made a good life for my family and self, and it enabled me to move to Florida sooner than expected. The other major event was my five-disk cervical neck surgery. It ended many years of discomfort but did leave me with less dexterity and other limitations I will need to live with (including a finger tremor and sore neck and shoulder muscles). In the end it needed to be done, and I was glad to be able to do it.

We went on several nice vacations, cruising of course and enjoyed many sea life encounters in our backyard canal (dolphins, manatees, birds, sting rays and many fish). I can’t forget my son’s misadventures trying to dorm at college and meeting what seems to be his love of life mate on one of our cruises. Of course, there was the shortly planned and quickly put together beachside wedding of my stepdaughter Ashley and her husband Anthony (who was recently deployed to the mid-east).

So, as I am another year older, hopefully a bit wiser, I am content knowing there is a path, with an ever-changing plan, and more travel for sure.
