On or after or sometimes before this day – always a Saturday eve, my (fraternal) lodge would hold a “sweethearts dance” and for the last couple of years it did not happen and a several couple got together on our own; this year the pandemic offered an easy excuse. Hopefully, next year will see its return. In the meantime on the first time Valentine’s Day fall on the same day I blog I share my Songs of Love playlist.
Each link works and I even added two songs to the list, 65...
Annually, I offer a rather short blog with a concerted purpose: a musical start to welcome the new year. We reached that moment with the most popular of the playlists I post on YouTube and Apple Music: Song To Ring in the New Year. Please do enjoy and share it.
As I explained in prior years, this curated list reflects more my musical taste in comparison to the holiday songs setlist which “accept” selections proposed by others; that helps explain that lengthy playlist.

President Obama, during the DNC, tweeted his “summer” playlist see pic at left). Since this blog falls on the weekend between the DNC and the RNC, it seems a good time to re-share my “State of Our Union playlist; I created it before the 2019 annual presidential speech. Some people create playlists all the time. It predates streaming. People would make their own tapes. My daughter would make CDs for the car. For me, just as with drafting these blog, something needs to muse me....

Let’s Welcome the New Year
with Some Musical Cheer
In a comment on a blog my friend Paul suggested making today’s blog short.
Traditionally, the blog runs long because it includes a list; it did last year.
This commentary, in a nod to Paul's comment on my comment to last Tuesday's blog and Friday’s blogger who also encourages me to offer shorter blogs, I simply share my verified playlist to herald the new year. Interestingly, unlike the happy holidays playlist now at an...

Last weekend we celebrated 34. The actual anniversary fell one week ago today; I noted it in last week’s blog (‘Cause it matters). We chose to officially celebrate on the eve before. Interestingly, we chose the “events” based on an unplanned interruption several weeks earlier.
I scored “twofer” tickets for Jersey Boys on February 16 at the New World Stages but a manhole fire in the street outside the entrance canceled that eve’s show. We were walking down the south side of ...
