During this time where we read of folks infected and worse by the Coronavirus COVID-19 and wish and seek healing, I offer a collection of tunes to promote a healthy feeling.  I titled it, "Doin' Fine," after my fave Savoy Brown tune, also included in this set.   I enjoyed creating a few playlists this year shared in some prior blogs; indeed I enjoy almost the entire Song for the Road playlist blogged on last week during a recent road trip and two shorter "runs" in between.   ...
It’s a secret!   Not the event. It appears on a couple of calendars found on line – at the New York Grand Lodge Knights of Pythias website’s “Pythian Events” link and on the host FDR Lodge 613 website calendar.   But telling what happens remains a no go. All I can share about the event is I organized it so friends I play basketball with in Floral Park, Queens can fulfill their obligation to “take the ranks” as members in our Lodge that covers their twice weekly basketball.   ...
We saw some really great shows so far this year. And it’s not impossible that by the time this month passes nothing can top 2019’s August. Already this month we saw Poco co-founder Jim Messina (perhaps better known for his work with Kenny Loggins) August 5 at current fave venue, My Father’s Place. This past Thursday at Radio City Music Hall, we enjoyed John Fogerty who led Creedence Clearwater Revival to a string of double-sided hit singles and earns kudos for his solo work. ...
Last week the plan for today's blog would be to discuss those announced this past Thursday at Gotham Green® as the recipients of the Gotham Green Award® at a Luncheon next April in advance of Earth Day. Indeed this past week involved a have set of meetings; two major presentations sandwiched the Green announcement itself, and I did enjoy sharing my take on the election results to the Gotham Executive Club and speaking on a panel on regional partnerships at Vision Long Island...
