A year ago I blogged about gathering virtually for Passover (and for others, on Easter). No one thought then we would still be dealing with COVID19, albeit with many of us “vaxxed” or on the way to be such. Nonetheless its a big deal that we were able to gather in our small but safe core. My daughter took care of making sure a new seder plate she procured for her family got “filled” appropriately. And the daughter stepped in and handled all the kitchen duties for her mom this...
Best wishes in this first weekend of the new year. Many recent Gotham blogs looked ahead and share resolutions and predictions for this year. Instead, I continue practice to share a list compiled and commentary posted to my website on the top ten shows I attended in the year just ended. Hope you find the list -- 1) John Fogerty and ZZ Top 2) The Richie Furay Band performs POCO DeLIVErin’ 3) Jeff Beck, Paul Rodgers, Ann Wilson 4) Glenn Tilbrook 5) The Eagles 6) Ro...

I first learned of the tour featuring original members Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman supported by Marty Stu...

It re-opened at its new location in The Roslyn Hotel on Old Northern Boulevard on June 29. Buxter Poindexter headlined its return.   I saw many great concerts among 20 shows I attended at the original site on Bryant Avenue. John David Souther, Chri...
Songs find a way to stick in my head.   Different reasons.   Stuff going on with politics makes me recall two great Manassas songs from their 2nd studio LP, Down the Road, “Isn’t It About Time” and “Lies.” I used one in a tweet earlier this month and kept thinking about the other whenever I used hashtag #Lies on any number of tweets this month.   Just yesterday – on the way to the gym, I call out to Siri while driving to play Hot Burrito #2 (HB#2). It came up with the studio...
