I don’t know how I fell into such luck to be your Tuesday blogger – rather than any other day of the week. Being your Tuesday blogger means that every year I get to tell you all about our golf outing.
Here is the lesson of the day – always, and again this year. When you bring 80 professionals together for an entire day to have fun, enjoy the beautiful weather and make connections, great things happen. They just do.
It never ceases to amaze me how the event buzzes all day long – from the moment people pull up to the front door to that moment after dinner when everyone leaves through that same door, sharing stories of their golf games. Of course, there is Fred's rousing annual performance of Dock of the Bay, this year joined by Stu Cantor. You can just feel connections happening all around you.
To be crystal clear, and repeat what so many of you have heard me say over the years – I am not a golfer. Far from it. But every year, I go out on the course with my group of women – ladies, I appreciate you (Laurel, Flo, Liz – in case you didn’t know who I meant). We spend a day catching up with each other, learning golf, cheering each other on when someone’s ball makes “that noise,” encouraging lots and lots of “do overs” and let’s not forget enjoying the food of the day.
I highly recommend joining us next year.
I cannot end this blog without a special thank you to the entire golf committee. We could not have this outing without the time you all put into making this event the best that it can be. And of course, the most thanks to Norman Spizz who just did it again.
Until next year on the golf course – a sentence that my younger self never thought I would utter.
