Just over a week ago, I attended another show with Marisa. If not for that week’s proud parent moment covered last Sunday, today’s blog would have appeared that day. On the way to take in “The Who ‘The Song is Over’ 2025 North American Farewell Tour” at Jones Beach, August 28, Marisa pointed out how she grew up on The Who. Indeed, it seemed like clockwork that FM radio played “Baba O’Riley” or “Won’t Get Fooled Again” from “Who’s Next” every morning as I drove her to high school. She posted brief videos of each to Facebook (See pic upper left.).

That made sharing this concert all the more special.

I particularly enjoyed the setlist (Please see below.) full of songs that graced my stereo turntable plenty of times back in the day:

I Can't Explain

Substitute

Who Are You

The Seeker

Love Ain't for Keepin'

Pinball Wizard

See Me, Feel Me (with Listening to You refrain)

Behind Blue Eyes

Eminence Front (Pete Townsend lead vocals)

My Generation

Cry If You Want

You Better You Bet

Going Mobile (Simon Townsend lead vocals)

The Real Me

I'm One

5:15

Love, Reign O'er Me

Baba O'Riley

Won't Get Fooled Again

(followed by band intros and Pete apologizing for ending early due to curfew)

The Song is Over

Tea & Theatre (acoustic; Roger and Pete only)

Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend performed in fine formed backed by Pete's brother; Simon Townshend: additional guitar, backing vocals; Jon Button: Bass; Loren Gold: Keyboards; Scott Devours: Drums; and John Hogg: additional backing vocals.
