Well done.
Having grown up with Billy Joel as his music career grew up, I thoroughly enjoyed this “backstage” story of a man born and raised in Hicksville, Long Island – the town from which I commute every day.
This two-part documentary had Billy, and the people closest to him, take us through his life in an often unflattering, but brutally honest, way. As I listened to many of the songs bring back memories, I found myself saying “I didn’t know that” as each song was made to reflect what was happening in the life of the artist at the time of its birth.
In particular, I enjoyed the music as I always have. I admit to singing – a lot – while watching.
I highly recommend this documentary, if you haven’t yet had the chance.
