[Fredslist] Wells Remy Crowther...

Dear Fred, Nancy, Corey, Rosalia, and all fellow Gotham members,

Last night was a glorious evening for Gotham and our attending members.

Certainly, it was extra special for me, about 100 times over. I am deeply
humbled and most grateful to receive the 2024 *Wells Remy Crowther* *Red
Bandana Service Award*.

While I've known of Wells Remy Crowther and his selfless, sacrificing acts
of incredible courage and service on 9/11, I've spent all dau learning a
great deal more. So I'd like to share a few things with you all.

Wells's *Red Bandana *was given to him by his father at a young age. It
became Wells's symbol for representing his commitment to service and love
of helping others in need.

Wells was training to become a *NYC Firefighter*. Although he worked as an
Equities Trader, albeit on the 104th floor of the South Tower, he felt more
compelled to save people's lives than to earn a big income.

Wells graduated from Boston College a couple of years earlier. He was just
24 years old at the time of his death. He played on the BC Lacrosse team.
Wells was a member of the *Christian Athletes Club*. His *Christian *faith
was very important to him.

The magnitude of Wells's service, sacrifice, love, and passion for helping
others is what makes true heroes. Wells is a true hero and as such, he and
his *Red Bandana* symbolize Gotham's heart and soul through this
amazing award. Gotham's heart and soul are on display every day by our
fearless leader Fred.

To honor the life of Wells Remy Crowther is to recognize the ultimate
service, sacrifice, and willingness to risk his life to save dozens of his
"brothers and sisters" as he did.

In bestowing the highest honor upon Wells, I would like us to use his
inspiration, helping one another to move closer to his likeness, and ensure
that his *Red Bandana *remains an everlasting symbol of service and
selflessness.

With gratitude and humility, thank you ✨💖
