[Fredslist] New Games in Gotham ...

Sometimes we find ourselves juggling a lot of balls in the air.  Last night the balls were on the table as Shawn Bernabeu and Scott Bloom cued up the first ever Gotham Billiard Night.

As is typical of our Gotham community the event was designed for players of every stripe who found their way to the Roc Center for a solid few hours away from the hustle and bustle of the City.

Some came to play – like seriously play – and their competitive spirit was accommodated. For others the game was an amusement at best. We were easily accommodated. There was plenty to eat and lots to talk about.

Clearly, some came prepared with skills and others of us not so much. In the end it was a ball being together in real time and space. You can chalk this up as a successful shot at doing something new. 

Our need to socialize, connect with old friends and meet new people was certainly satisfied. Food and beverage?  That too was part of  the fun.  Detroit Pizza was a treat for this Detroiter who didn’t really know that was a “thing!”  It was just "square pizza" to us. There was something for everyone and no detail went unmet.

Take a cue from this chronicler, when the next billiard night is announced, you don’t want to scratch. When it comes to time well spent last night gets a definite thumbs up!
