I too witnessed a great talk on travel given by Laura Avital yesterday. It was both informative and interesting. As Shelley mentioned, many great tips to be had by Laura. Croatia does seem to be an unexpected destination to consider.
Do reach out to Laura and get a step ahead of just booking your next trip on line. Laura can be your safety net, should something come up unexpectedly or go wrong, as is the case with airline delays and rules that change often. She will act as a hand holder to ensure your trip goes as smoothly as possible. Great to have her as a valued Gotham Member.

When I listen to someone who loves what they do, it makes me want to join in on the fun. Listening to Laura Avital (Mill Brook Travel) present at the Gotham Speakers Bureau yesterday, I was ready to pack my bags!

Laura learned the business from the ground up having worked for the airlines - at JFK no less. She is also an avid traveler so she knows both sides of the experience.

Yesterday she shared plenty of insight and lots of tips. The bottom line is that taking a vacation is easier  when we have an expert to guide us along the way and an advocate when things go sideways which they can.

She shared fun facts and basic information - she thinks of everything one would possibility need to know and stays up to date as things change. I had no idea that Croatia was a destination spot for zip lining and wineries! Erupting volcanos in Iceland? I had no idea! It’s illegal to chew gum in Singapore? Seriously!

And yes, it is illegal to hike naked in Switzerland.

COVID updates? She’s got the latest! What’s the best app for getting through the long lines at the airport? How to deal with delays?  Laura can help. The thing is, she does her research, is well traveled and, in true Gotham form, is available to help when we need it.

For me, when I am ready to talk travel, the first step is to talk with Laura Avital for sure.
