I am on the Board of Trustees of the Rowena Reed Kostellow Fund, formed in 1988-9. We are piggy-backing our non-profit on the 501(c)3 of Pratt Institute, where the person the Fund is named after taught for many years. All the trustees were once her students.

We are in serious trouble. Over the years, we trusted the administrators Pratt sent us to talk about where the donations we collected should reside and the rules of a non-profit organization. We didn't ask them the right questions. There was a different administer every year. Pratt has no records of who those people were, and claims they have no notes from their meetings with us. We have recently found some papers documenting some of the agreements made in those meetings, and others. We have a list of the discrepancies.

Pratt has deliberately changed much of what was agreed upon in those meetings without our input. Financial statements have never been forthcoming; we must ask for them. We have no way to know if they are accurate.

We are looking for pro-bono advice for how we can resolve the issues we inherited without antagonizing the people at Pratt and move forward. Please let me know if you are interested and free for a phone call to answer your questions and hopefully to schedule a virtual meeting with 2-3 of our trustees.

Thanks for reading and considering our request.
