On this Wednesday (11/17) at 12:30 the Construction Group will have the esteemed Mike Steger speak not about all of the ongoing issues that affect offices, he is not going to speak about the labor issues our industry (or other industries), he is not going to speak about inflation, supply shortage, global warming, politics or a list of other topics that seem to drive us to the end of the world ad we know it.  Mike Steger is going to talk about the future and how to help you prepare for it.  He is going to speak about protecting your ideas, designs, and creations for the design build industry and yours. Tom – I’m interested in doing a presentation for your group, something like “IP Issues in Construction, Architecture and Real Estate”.  Three issues come to mind – (1) use of photographs by contractors, developers, brokers, etc.; (2) copyright in designs (architectural plans), and (3) trademark rights in buildings and building names.  All of these are areas where professionals and owners can get tripped up and end up paying a lot of $$ that could have been avoided with a little due diligence.

I could do anywhere from 10-20 minutes with questions.  Might be a topic where you could get some brokers to visit as guests.
