Thinking outside the boxes!  An apt description of the recent Power Breakfast/Business Breakfast meeting. Corey Bearak, chair of Power Breakfast, Vincent Chirico, the GC of Power Breakfast and I allowed for time at the beginning for people to arrive and settle in before getting down to what would be the “formal” part of the meeting. This time, things were done differently - why not!!! We have the POWER to do BUSINESS OUR WAY!

There was no need to stop a robust conversation to shift gears into the usual trip around the “room” and breakout rooms, all of which is perfectly fine much of the time but not this time. This meeting was reminiscent of our Friday Happy Hours-without entertainment, of course. 

There were no “commercials.” We had conversations instead of presentations. We engaged in spontaneous questions, answers and sharing of what we know about each other and the possibilities for future collaboration. It was fast paced, spirited and informative. 

It was Gotham Unscripted - we came together to be together and to engage in conversation, build relationships and do business. And, of course, have fun. We did all that!

Judging from the laughter, the commitments to follow up and the fact that we had to finally call the meeting “over" long past the allotted 90 minutes, I’d say this recent joint meeting was a success.
