I write today to ask for your help.

As Board Chair of Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (www.obtjobs.org<http://www.obtjobs.org/>) I am really proud of the work we do in providing training and career pathways for young adults in underserved communities.  For over 40 years, OBT has provided workforce training to thousands of “opportunity youth,” generally ages 17-24, many of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds,   We presently provide training in Cloud Support Engineering and Digital Marketing, Health Care Administration, Construction, Hospitality, and general business opportunities, and open the pathways to high school equivalency diplomas, college, internships and hopefully living wage jobs. We have a virtual fundraising event on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 6pm to 7pm – one hour, to learn more about what we do and why.  I promise you this is like no other Zoom event you have attended – real people, real stories, real impact.  I would love to see you there, and am immensely proud to extend this invitation, to ask you to help me expand the reach of opportunity to new levels. If you can’t make it next Tuesday, I hope you consider including OBT in your personal charitable giving – we’ve had a heck of a ride this past year due to Covid-19 and have successfully transitioned our training programs to 100% virtual attendance, which has expanded our reach many times over.  We are presently designing our return to in-person training, and could very much use your help in taking OBT to the next level.

As an immigrant myself, I’m reminded every day that our successes have been achieved because someone, in some way, helped us.  I hope you join me in thanking those who helped us by paying it forward.
