The Urgent Care centers are swamped not with vaccinations – but with tests – getting a test is its own misery

Get tested they say – get tested often they say –

Sure – try getting an appointment, or head to an Urgent Care Center and you can stand in line for 5 hours or get a call back 7 hours later

Then all you get is the rapid test which is not authoritative.

Want the PCR test – time to wait between 2 and 6 days for a result (and that’s an improvement over the 10 days wait this summer)

Outrageous.

Time to get rid of both Cuomo and DeBlasio

In Manhattan, urgent care centers and pharmacies are swamped. I walked by an urgent care center which had vaccines who turned myself  and a few other people away saying :"make an appointment" when there were no patients in the waiting room.  Meanwhile, the city appointment making site is swamped.   This is a major public health distribution disaster. They had since March to figure out how to get this done.

It is not automatic although it should be.  Some are and some are not.  Also may depend on whether you received Pfizer or Moderna. My in-laws were automatically scheduled for the 2nd shot, I was not.

If you get the 1st shot, you automatically get scheduled for the 2nd shot.

My parents got it yesterday and they are scheduled for the followup in 3 weeks.
