Since the first CoronaTimes Gotham Happy Hour, each one has been different. It started out as a simple Zoom “meeting with no agenda” and has slowly morphed into what, back in the 70s, might have been called “a happening.”
Under the curation of Norman Spizz our Gotham Events Chair (SPN Music and Entertainment) we celebrate Friday @5 with music, magic, and now we are celebrating memories.
February Happy Hours are sponsored by Brad Scherer (Klerer Financial.) For the second time we had a clip from the Gotham 2004 Follies and in addition to that, there was plenty of party going on…
This chronicler noticed an increase in spontaneous silliness that’s taking place every week. Norman Spizz, the Gotham Guru of One-liners is not the only joculator, however. So if you enjoy a good laugh at an old joke or jab, join us next week.
Now back to the Follies. Last week it was standup Comic Norman Spizz. And this week … well, AT LAST some “serious" talent.
Introduced by Fred “Sullivan” Klein (Klein Zelman Rothermel Jacobs and Schess) in his ever-so-chic threads, the Devine Ms. N, Nancy Schess (Klein Zelman Rothermel Jacobs and Schess) performed a gritty and fervent rendition of “At Last” written by the great Etta James who would no doubt have been as verklempt as the rest of us.
Join us next Friday at 5pm - we will enjoy another Happy Hour. I understand it will offer SUPREME enjoyment.
In the meantime we have a calendar filled with things to do in Gotham. Note that Corey Bearak (Government and Public Affairs Counsel) is going to present “Accessing Government to Benefit Your Clients” at the Gotham Business Seminar Series on Thursday February 11th at Noon.
